Dawn Martin Dickins is a drawing/installation artist currently living and working in Clarksville, Tennessee. With imagery that is rooted in metaphor, she creates work that is reactionary to how current political issues personally affect her as a woman and a mother. Though she works in a variety of scales, she prefers the performative nature of large-scale public works that allow for passersby to engage in conversation, experience the development of art and realize the ephemerality of both. Dawn earned her BFA from Georgia Southern University and her MFA from the University of South Carolina.
